I have been a mini Queen fan thanks to dad. I use to hear it on his bose system, for someone who is rather boring. I have to say pops has quite great music taste, queen, eagles, phil colins. Nope I did not grow up with the typical ktv songs that uncles tend to sing loudly into the mike but I grew up with these classics.

I think I just have some english blood in me, with pops telling me his college and university days in London. I used to wonder what his house looks like, the apple tree that he mentions to me. Or how my uncle tells me how he whacks a whole mooncake when grandma delivers it up from Singapore.

Now being here, it makes me feel closer to him too. It's something special that both of us share, having our education here. Sitting the same tubes, walking down the tube stairs, the stale air, the cold wintery months. In years to come, I wonder how should I tell my kids or grandkids about their grandpa. About this man whom I spend a good 19 years of my life, understanding his rather interesting temper, his knowledge and his love for his family. It makes me scared, it makes me afraid that one day his face starts fading away from me or the memories starts to get dusty.

Maybe that's why sometimes I never want to move on cos I want to make sure that I always remember the fateful day so that the flashbacks comes easily. I guess the fear the sadness the grieve allows me to jolt back to that day and then the pain comes back and I start to remember everything associating with him. Mum and Mae have moved on but nah deep inside I know that in a little corner of my head, one part is locked up for that day. For him . Its a sad sick way of remembering a person, but I guess everyone have their ways. For me is walking back to that day, then it opens the doors to other memories.

If God is rather high tech right now, which he should be cos he gave man the power of knowledge and man found the internet. I bet heaven has an internet cafe.

I look like a cherry tomato after sipping wine

I begin to enjoy the nights where I sit under my quilt, with my breakfast tray and laptop on it. I wonder how long more will be able to enjoy this luxury. It kind of allows me to reflect on my day, on my thoughts and on what I've been through.

I bet there are others who went through more than me, who wants to give up sometimes.

But I think death works wonders in strange ways. For me, it woke me up, it taught me how to live. Death showed me the light of life. I used to take things for granted but death shook me up. I think its only when you experience death at an age when you understand, comprehend the aftereffects than death really has worked on you. I think its when death daunts on you, at a time where you never expected, where you thought you will fall deeper, its only then you realised how much it teaches you to just keep on breathing.

Two deaths in a row, 3 months apart. One is pops, the other is my best cousin.

It shook the family, it made us questioned God, it made us question why. But death works wonders, its harsh but it brings people together, it shows the vulnerability of people. It teaches one to stay strong. Certain days, it comes back to haunt you, it haunts you when you are alone when you are down. You start zooming back to the hospital, you start seeing your friends comforting you, you see the fire, the tears then it ends. But it never ends, death never ends, it stays it stays with you till you meet death yourself.

But now I just now I have to keep breathing.

Hello my fellow human earthlings,

I'm officially like 6 mths old, turning 7mths in a few months time.

I have no idea why my ma ma gave me a rather gayish name - Bubbles, wished it was something more towards like Rambo or Rocky. But well never mind, everyone says I am going to become a handsome boy. Oh and the colour of my coat is changing into and awesome shade of goldy brown. Yeah people I am a pale golden retreiver :)

My ma ma tells me everyday that I am her new pee machine, but seriously ma ma I am just a puppy with a rather weak bladder. Give me a few more months and I would be like big brother Ockley! Oh talking about Ockley, he is such a push over but he has the biggest heart. Don't judge his tiny build, but yes he steps in and protects me when dodgy young girls wearing tu tus skate skoots round the park. That totally freaks me out. I mean seriously =.=

I do love my scruffy brother, though haha I tend to steal his treats and he gets awfully annoyed with me. But still he just gives it to me, great brother to have. Oh yes I am now getting told off by my aging pops cos I was sneaking in to steal bro's chews. Arghhh adults.

The best way to start a Sunday, is to have a hearty breakfast. No more healthy oats, but slap on the mayo, get the roast chicken out and have 2 eggies omelet

Locford Mushrooms in my two eggie omelette with a handful of chopped chillis to give the omph. Roast chicken from last nights dinner was made to good use by shredding and donating some to our doggy sons, topped it up with a homemade honey mustard dressing. Yes 11pm, I was offically stuffed, sleepy and I was all once more ready to snuggle back under my quilt.

To end a great sunday, bake a cake !

Oh and I just ate a huge slice at 10pm, I should enroll into taf club once more

I shall start placing my camera beside my dining table to take pretty pictures of food.

Stop being lazy.

Now I am wondering if I should take a run with the dogs and the human boy. Or shall I take a slow stroll down the lake and see the sickening ducks where I just can't lay my hands on them and turn them into roast ducks cos they are the properties of the Queen .

The long awaited mello's baked rice with creamy tomato basil sauce topped with mozerella and red leicester cheese.

Now the secret to making a good baked rice is to first stir fry the uncooked rice with butter making sure that is well coated. Remember coat it well. Oh and grab a few cloves, bash them up and pop it into the pan. The smell is heavenly.

So if you are greedy like me, pop in some chorizos. Or maybe ham, bacon chicken cubes whatever you have in your fridge or what you crave for. I've decided to omit the saffron strands because I was too lazy and I am not going to waste those beauties. So once that yellow golden gleaming oil oozes out of the chorizos. Fires off. Gloves on, pan up and pour them into the great mighty rice cooker.

So now you walk to the tele, turn it on and watch the dog whisperer :)

Lastly drizzle tomato basil sauce on the cooked rice and top it off with good old mozerella and red cheddar. Bake it in the oven. Don't burn your fingers.

Been really busy, with my criminal minds and now onto the vampire diaries that yes I've neglected this poor blog.

ASOS has arrived, wahooo, here comes my high waisted pants, peg leg trousers. Yes I know, move over jeans, trousers/ pants are my new favorite. So yes, I currently lead quite a pleasant but relatively boring life right now and my boyfriend is turning into a high flyer phd who travels for conferences. Yes Mr Goh is heading off to first cyprus *with me tagging alone, then Spain then Miami =.=

2 more weeks till I hit the sand, sun and yes good authentic kebabs and halloumi cheese.

Sorry for the lack of updates, my mummy has been really busy watching criminal minds and salivating over Dr Reid that she has now stocked up on loads of instant noodles. I've been slightly neglected too *oh and not forgetting my pops*, due to that stupid darn show that has made my ma ma lie in bed and just stare at that white thing that has an apple sign on it =.=

Told her that she has to start her mojo pogo cooking, cos I do miss the aroma coming out from the kitchen while I lze on the sofa with my wonky huge brother.

I am a biscuit queen, they are like my partners in crime.

I start nibbling the sides, or sometimes dunking them into milk. Having tried like tons of brands of biscuits from cheap saturated hydorgenated filled ones to organic ones, I have met my new favourite ;) I love my oreos, I love my strawberry gems but one thing that sweeps me off my feet is the taste of butter in biscuits. The smooth yet subtle butterly taste when I sink my teeth and then it starts melting slowly and sticks onto my molars.

I have found my new favourite !

Aritsan Biscuits, never seen them in Singapore but yes all hand made and not by robots.

Waitrose, thank you so much for putting them at an eye level shelf, so being a bit short I was able to spot it out. I guess it was the funky kiddish prints that caught my eye. Yes Jon thinks I am still a kid trapped in a 23 year old body who loves food so much that I might sacrifice him for a roast duck.

Checked the ingredients and wow pure banana puree for instance, not a single strange foreign chemical word that met me. I think the best part of this biscuit is its not a shortbread but that lingering taste and scent of butter that stays on your tongue and finger tips

Today I shall be a great cook and whip up some good old cantonese disheses

Oh and the best thing is I'm going to my local butcher, to collect my 1/2 kg of luscious belly pork. Then I am going to give it a good rub with loads of good old sea salt and 5 spice powder.

A day of fun in the sun with 1 man 2 dogs and loads of cow dung

Mr cow and his family are real poo goers. Their poo are like the size of, well I can't describe it but basically they are huge and mushy. Thanks to the great sunny weather these days, they now look like massive truffles that been squashed :)

So to celebrate Jon's last day of work, we've decided that Sundays will be known as pig out days. I mean well the rest of the days we feast on food too. But Sunday's will be special, with the dogs in the field and them watching us kneading bread doughs like maniacs.

I love the smell of cinnamon, how it lingers in the living room and reaches out to me while I laze under the quilt. Extremely therapeutic. Well the cinn bombs/buns/swirls turned out a bit tiny winy rockish. So I gave Jon's work of art a new name Cinn Rocks. The dough was pretty good, it just lacked the omph, well another try then!

The day was well spent, something that I would look back when I am much older and think of all our food escapades.

Dear Mummy,

Due to the tempting waters, I apologize for being too curious by sniffing too close to the river which then resulted in a slip and a dive into the chilly waters. Many apologies for causing you to stand and gap at me while i bubbled up against the water, and thanks for screaming out loud to daddy for the swift rescue. I do have to admit I did love my cute stunt.

Before I snooze off to bed, I would like to remind my brain that I've got to purchase a cabbage tmr for my okonomyaki !

Nos encanta la paella

So it was a paella then went really good. At the same time with a splitting headache and a mild fever, I had a little mixed up with the seasonings. For example 1 strand of saffron thread and 4 tbps of paprika, I read as 1 tablespoon of saffron thread and totally omitted the paprika

So after nearly eating 3/4 of my portion of dinner, I realized the mixed up.

Saturday's dinner was awesome.

The flu bug is still lingering on and I've slept for like less that 5 hours, I presume for two consecutive days. So yes, I am rather peekish and grumpish but that does not make me stay away from food.

So to brighten up my horrid day, I've managed to spend a major whopping 70 quid on bento boxes, bento accessories. Oh and I bought my baking book, cupcakes here we come! What better comfort food with some punch with a mel inspired paella :)

Seriously, I do ponder on certain times what will I be up to without the two buggers. How crazy they are, and at the same time how different they are. One is like a wire that is a bit wonky tonky, while the other is a greedy bastard.

One has a heart of a chicken, but at the same time my loyal security guard. The other is downright opposite that just sleeps even if there is a upcoming typhoon.

The weather is getting pretter chillier now.

I practically look like snow white now after staying in the uk for nearly 4 years. Well this coming winter will indeed reduce my skin pigmentation and yes I may audition for like the next sequel of twilight.

Oh yes and ma if you are reading this, you are an absolutely happening mother hen who made the postman extra work yesterday. Oh mummmy hen , I still love you deep deep !

Life is indeed really unpredictable. One moment we can be smiling and the next we might be in some other world.

I have experienced two life changing situations. I've seen death first hand, I've watched death creeping into someone. I've seen how death changes one person but I've yet met death.

A call today, made me think how precious life is. How we should embrace every single second. How I should be thankful that I'm still breathing.

All I can do is keep breathing now :)

Bollocks

This is my "GEK" face, cos my stomach is churning like a whirpool washing machine and I can't lao sai . Blooody hell .

So a trip to a dentist, left me with 10 jabs into my upper gums. Scraped, poked, bled. You name it I went through it like a 5 year old kid. Yes I held onto the nurse hands, and I bet she must be thinking what a ku ku 23 year old chinese patient I was. I'm currently suffering the aftereffects of the anesthetic, bleah, oh but that did not stop me from slurping down my curry laksa yesterday night :) Brilliant, wicked dish just lacking the coconut thickness.

So I am officially a bedridden post grad, just waiting for the mobile to ring. Ring means good. Ring means somone wants to hire me. Ring Ring means money money. So yeap, I am using my breakfast table as a table for my laptop, searching for kitchen appliances and baking books. I am morphing into the next SLIM nigella lawson!

I am in love with smeg appliances. I hate the new modern chic homes of new couples, monochrome, sleek edges, black and white. I hate those chic sleek houses. Yucks.

I have this habit of dressing up my dogs into lady sexaye female doggies, oh and only my dear bubbles allows it. Ockley totally detests it to the core, remembered trying to make him a daisy necklace, fresh daisies from the fields and yes he went ballistic.

So life is a really stressful right now, considering that I've finally completed my masters. Job hunting is now on the go. Dang Dang Dang.

Oh yes this is suddenly really random, but I am now currently dreaming about sinking my teeth into Goodwood Park hotel's mooncake.

Yesterday was the day I finally printed the long awaited blood tear filled thesis. A sense of achievement with a treat to the hairdresser with a new spanky wanky hair colour and awesome highlights. More highlights to be done on thursday !!

So ash blond or ash brown I've no idea what's my hair colour but I am loving it . I hate red, I hate gold but I can say this time the colour turned out pretty fine for my dark head :) 

I love warm colours . 

* Oh and my bff in Singapore is leaving for New York in like less than 24 hrs :( 

I'm definitely going to miss that feathery bird if I head down to london and park at Vindaloo Street. Or when he comes up to Surrey during winter, where we head to the farmers market and become madly insane with hot pipping hamburgers.  When we whine at each other's misery over the phone on why are we stuck in the land of gloom.
